From RTE..
“Celebrating the collaborative achievements of Irish athletes, The RTÉ Sports Team of the Year award was presented to the Irish cricket team.
After qualifying for the World Cup for the first time, the team produced a stunning performance in Jamaica, beating Pakistan in the group stages and qualifying for the Super Eight stage.”
Zanzibar Films have joined forces with filmmaker Paul Davey to produce a major documentary film on the amazing story of the Irish Cricket team at the recent world cup in the Carribean.
Davey travelled with the Irish team throughout the world cup and filmed over 40 hours of exclusive behind the scenes footage.
Back in Ireland, Davey is now organising final interviews to be filmed, before post production begins in September. The film is being produced by Shimmy Marcus and Edwina Forkin of Zanzibar Films (Headrush, Aidan Walsh - Master of the Universe). It will be broadcast and available on DVD by Christmas.
